The Local Church

As a new believer I loved the Lord and I desired to be part of His Body, the church. I tried to maintain a good behavior and to attend all the scheduled services in the place where I met. After five years I lost interest in the religious services. In 1984 I attended a meeting of the local church in Vancouver where the brothers and sisters in Christ talked about God’s economy. As they spoke about this topic, the truth was revealed to me. I understood that God’s Economy is God’s desire for being dispensed into man; He wants to dispense His life in us (John 10:10) and saturate us with Himself until He becomes everything to us by His life. This life builds and constitutes His Body, the church (Ephesians 1:22-23, 4:15-16). Our own efforts and our good behavior do not build the church.

During these years, I have learned to contact God in a practical way by calling upon His name, and by praying over His Word. I love Him more each day, I love the meetings, and I love to meet with brothers and sisters. I give thanks to the Lord for such a place and the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee that helps me to live and experience what the believers practiced and lived in the early church in the book of Acts.

I give thanks to the Lord for the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee because by it I can more fully enjoy God in His Word.
